Back then you could get a student loan, go to college then graduate and get a job. Once in your new job you started making good money and pay back your student loans in a few years. Yes, going to college meant that you would soon own a home and a new car.

I read an excellent blog post by Tim Ferris entitled 8 Steps to Getting What You Want… Without Formal Credentials and it was excellent. Tim Talks about getting the job without a college degree. He is not talking about some magic pill here. What Tim is explaining is that with hard work and real world examples of your expertise can in fact qualify you for most professional services jobs out there. This off course excludes trades like law and medicine.
Pretend your brain is a giant Gmail inbox. You can use filters to immediately label thoughts to get them out of your priority inbox and not have them bog down your productivity (or happiness). As soon as you see one of the below types of thoughts pop up, label it, filter it, and file it (thoughts have a way of racing past us). Many times, this has been the only way I’ve been able to pick myself up and get moving again.
