Rice Commerce In Haiti

Frontline reporter Adam Davidson takes a real look at the rice commerce in Haiti. The basic dilemma is when aid agencies provide free rice to Haiti they are serving an immediate need and doing an immediate good but that good deed ends up hurting everyone because it destroys local businesses.

When people receive free rice they will not buy rice. When the aid organizations are gone there will be no rice because most of the businesses that use to sell rice were driven out of business by the free rice program.
